Ingredients
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 large egg
½ cup milk
1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)
Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
1. In a bowl, mix the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses together until well combined.
2. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg and milk until smooth.
3. In another bowl, combine the flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
4. Shape the cheese mixture into small bite-sized balls (about 1 inch in diameter).
5. Roll each cheese ball first in the flour mixture, then dip into the egg wash, and finally coat evenly with breadcrumbs.
6. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
7. Fry the cheese bites in batches for 2–3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
8. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
9. Let cool slightly before serving to avoid burning your mouth on the hot cheese.
