Description

Indulge in this easy Chocolate Peanut Butter Ooey Gooey Cake with rich layers of fudgy chocolate and creamy peanut butter. Perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients

Scale

1 box (15.25 oz) chocolate cake mix

1 cup creamy peanut butter

1 cup powdered sugar

1 cup cold milk

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Optional: chopped peanuts or chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking dish.

2. In a medium bowl, combine the peanut butter and powdered sugar until smooth and well mixed. Set aside.

3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the chocolate cake mix, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth and fully combined.

4. Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.

5. Dollop the peanut butter mixture evenly over the cake batter layer.

6. Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the peanut butter layer.

7. Pour the remaining cake batter on top, carefully spreading it to cover the peanut butter and chocolate chips. It will look uneven, but that’s perfect for the ooey gooey effect.

8. Bake in the preheated oven for 35–40 minutes or until the top is set but still gooey inside (a toothpick inserted may come out with moist crumbs).

9. Remove from oven and let cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing.

10. Garnish with chopped peanuts or chocolate shavings if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for extra indulgence.

Store leftovers covered tightly at room temperature or in the fridge.

Freeze for up to 3 months; thaw before reheating.
