Description
Rich and gooey fudgy brownies with a glossy crust — an easy recipe perfect for chocolate lovers.
Ingredients
1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter
1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup (40g) unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chopped nuts
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
2. Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl or on the stove, then stir in the sugar until combined.
3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
4. Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gently fold until just combined — don’t overmix.
5. If using, fold in the chocolate chips or nuts.
6. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
7. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
8. Let cool completely before cutting into squares.
